The Careysburg Public Elementary School (CPS) is situated about 23 miles north of the capital, Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia. CPS was established in 1956 and has since served as the only public elementary school in the small city of Careysburg.
Due to limited funding, the school has experienced several challenges, including but not limited to inadequate space to serve its student population of over 200 students, lack of desk, damaged infrastructure, inadequate sanitation facilities, and the list continues.
This school needs our help. The grandchildren and great children of the late Edward and Evelyn Bates, who were Citizens of Careysburg, are mobilizing funds to support the school with much-needed renovations and construct a reading room in partnership with the Kids Educational Engagement Project (KEEP).
Can we count on your support?
Your generous donations will:
provide desks for students
Renovate the bathrooms
Repair the roof
Complete the reading room
Our goal is to provide desks and complete renovations by the time the children return to school after the holiday break and open the reading room by March 2021.
